TSHARC-12 S
Touch Screen Controller Chip

The 20 pin SOIC TSHARC-12 “S” chip is Hampshire’s Work Horse touch screen controller IC. This controller is a low cost, small, high performance, 12 bit touch screen controller chip which will concurrently decode all 4, 5 and 8 wire resistive touch screens regardless of manufacturer or construction for RS-232 and PS/2 communication.

Hampshire own proprietary Dynamic Sample Rate Algorithm, will insure that the controller is functioning at the optimum performance for the specific touch application relative to the touch screen’s construction and electrical characteristics.

This TSHARC controller IC includes an on-board a 12 bit A-D converter which supports 12-bit (4,096 x 4,096) resolution.

Hampshire’s “Mini” and “V” controller boards are the reference designs for this IC and may be used for evaluation of the “S” controller chip or as a standard stock solution for applications that require a complete board solution. These controller boards support all 4, 5 and 8 wire touch screens and include all Hampshire device drivers and technical support.

Hampshire controller chips have never become obsolete because they are produced with standard "off the shelf" microcontrollers. Hampshire firmware revisions and associated device drivers are developed and supported in house by Hampshire engineers to insure future compatibility as well as fixed available source code for past firmware revisions.
